The island offers a choice of several adventure parks, including Scape Park in Cap Cana in Punta Cana. Here, you can explore or swim in ancient caves, go zip lining and jump into the water, or ride the park’s splash hammocks. Other adventures include taking a cruise along idyllic beaches or snorkeling in clear, tropical waters. Once your adrenaline is done, relax in the park’s exclusive beach club.

Among the most popular activities for adventure travelers, canyoning and rappelling come out tops and the Dominican Republic is the place to be. Among the most popular locations to choose from are the canyons of Baiguate Falls and Salto el Limon in Samana. The Dominican Republic offers many fascinating, ancient caves where the first inhabitants of the island left their mark. Here, there are petroglyphs and pictographs, still clear to see on the walls of the caves. Among the best places to go caving are Cueva de Las Maravillas near La Romana and Los Tres Ojos National Park on the outskirts of Santo Domingo.

The popular sport of paragliding is a year-round adventure in the Dominican Republic and there are several places to do so. Imagine paragliding above the Dominican Republic’s mountainous towns of Constanza and Jarabacoa, seeing the towns from an alternative viewpoint. Go flying over peaks and waterfalls, villages and plantation fields, taking in the Caribbean nation from every direction. One major place for a white-water rafting experience is down the Yaque del Norte River. Known as the longest river in the Caribbean, starting out from Jarabacoa makes for an unforgettable experience.

The Dominican Republic offers several parks for zip lining and one is just a short drive from Punta Cana. This adventure takes you to the island’s Oriental Mountain Range, where its steep hills and deep valleys are perfect for a zip-lining adventure.
