JetBlue Announces New Affordable Flights To And From Puerto Rico

Coming soon, travelling to Puerto Rico and other islands in the Caribbean is about to get easier and more comfortable with JetBlue. In the airline’s latest expansion, new flights will start at under $100. Read on to find out more about JetBlue’s latest expansion in Puerto Rico and other destinations.

JetBlue to launch new flights from Puerto Rico

Starting in October, JetBlue will start new flights, to and from San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) and six new destinations. According to the airline, these will include Providence, Rhode Island, Westchester, Cancun and New York. With these new flights, JetBlue will be able to fly to a total of 18 destinations from Puerto Rico, including the Dominican Republic, Cancun and more.

Marty St. George, President of JetBlue, said in a statement:

Our decades-long history with this vibrant community drives our enthusiasm to not only increase our service but also to strengthen our relationships and presence in the region.

We are excited to continue growing alongside the Puerto Rican community, ensuring that JetBlue remains a key partner in connecting the people of Puerto Rico.

Once the expansion is complete, JetBlue will offer flights to and from San Juan in Puerto Rico from the following:

  • Providence, RI – once daily starting October 27
  • Westchester County, NY – once daily starting October 27
  • Santiago, Dominican Republic – once daily starting October 28
  • Medellín, Colombia – four times per week starting October 29
  • Cancun, Mexico – three times per week starting October 28
  • St. Croix, USVI – once daily starting December 12

Business class Mint cabin on flights between San Juan and New York City

Besides the new flights, JetBlue will add its luxury offering to Puerto Rico by introducing its business class Mint cabin for the first time. This is coming in July on flights between San Juan and New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Meanwhile, this luxurious cabin includes lie-flat seats, Tuft & Needle bedding and menus from the Big Apple’s restaurants, Charlie Bird, Pasquale Jones and Legacy Records.

JetBlue is celebrating its new flights by offering one-way flights starting at $29 from San Juan to St. Croix. Heading to Providence, flights start at $79, as well as $89 to Santiago or Westchester. Meanwhile, the price of flights to Medellin or Cancun start at $99. Moreover, the airline is offering Mint fares from New York starting at $399 one-way.

From New York to other Caribbean destinations with JetBlue

Besides Puerto Rico, JetBlue is also expanding its presence on other popular islands in the Caribbean. Travelers will be able to fly from New York to St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Bonaire in the fall. Moreover, the daily service between San Juan and St. Croix will resume in December.

Speaking to Travel + Leisure, Miles Mercera, CEO of Tourism Corporation Bonaire said how “elated” he was that travelers “will have more options from this key US hub to easily discover all that our Caribbean gem has to offer.”
