The prestigious magazine, Travel + Leisure recently announced its Best Awards 2024, with Costa Rica honored as its Best Destination. Meanwhile, Hotel Belmar, a luxurious ecolodge set in the Cloud Forest of Monteverde in Costa Rica was honored as the #3 Best Resort in Central America. The hotel is renowned for its dedication to its guests’ wellbeing and environmental sustainability and this was celebrated by its guests in the Travel + Leisure Best Awards 2024.

Set in the Cloud Forest in Monteverde, Costa Rica, the carbon-neutral Hotel Belmar is thrilled to be announced as the #3 Best Resort in Central America at the Travel + Leisure Best Awards 2024. Moreover, Costa Rica was also honored by the prestigious travel magazine as the Best Destination for 2024.

Hotel Belmar is a worthy winner in the awards, as it has dedicated itself to guests’ well-being and environmental sustainability. The hotel features 26 unique guestrooms and suites, all featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, private terraces, freestanding soaking tubs and showers, with spectacular views of the mountains and the Pacific Ocean on the horizon.

Surrounded by naturally landscaped gardens, the hotel is a paradise for nature lovers, adventure seekers and wellness enthusiasts. Meanwhile, Hotel Belmar is also a paradise for culinary enthusiasts and foodies, with its Restaurante Celajes, Cerveceria Belmar and its Juice Bar and Tea Room. Each eaterie takes a local approach when sourcing ingredients while consistently prioritizing sustainable practices.

Under the creative guidance of Chef Alvaro Rodríguez, the hotel’s new menu iterations consist of organic produce and ingredients sourced from the hotel’s expanded organic garden. Other ingredients hail from the carbon-neutral farm Finca Madre Tierra and local foraging. Guests also enjoy access to a bar, juice bar and tearoom, a spring water pond, a food store, a sundeck and a relaxation gazebo with a heated jet pool in the garden.

Costa Rica is recognized for its sustainability efforts, biodiversity, lush landscapes and a colorful variety of wildlife and birds. Moreover, the Central American country is also renowned for its adventurous and wellness pursuits, leading to Travel + Leisure naming the country as its Destination of 2024. Meanwhile, Costa Rica also continues to produce the best and brightest in the hospitality industry.

Meanwhile, seven resorts from Costa Rica were named as part of the ten favorite resorts in Central America, with carbon-neutral Hotel Belmar coming in at #3 for its sustainable offerings and unique art residency program. Moreover, this marks the third time the hotel has received this prestigious award.

While enjoying a stay at the hotel, guests are invited to tour the hotel’s Finca Madre Tierra farm, the first carbon-neutral farm in Costa Rica. They can enjoy a true Costa Rican farm experience while learning about sustainable biointensive agricultural methods.

Moreover, guests can participate in immersive expenses, such as grinding sugar cane, milking cows, picking coffee beans, horseback riding, or watching how artisanal cheese is crafted.

Meanwhile, guests can also explore the hotel’s private reserve, SAVIA, where they can enjoy curated forest immersion adventures, ideal for connecting with nature in a sustainable way. In this sanctuary, small groups of guests can hike and bird watch, walk on suspension bridges, go zip-lining, climb a hollow ficus tree, meditate in sensorial gardens and curiosity pods, or enjoy a picnic above the forest canopy.
