Kansas City To Have New Mattel Adventure Park Featuring Barbie & Hot Wheels

In the wake of the popular Barbie movie, Mattel has announced plans for a new adventure theme park in Kansas City, Missouri. Working in partnership with Epic Resort Destinations, the new park will open in 2026 and will feature brands like Barbie, Hot Wheels and more. Read on to find out what we know about the exciting new park coming from Mattel.

Major attractions at new Mattel Adventure Park in Kansas City

The new Mattel Adventure Park is set to open in Kansas City in 2026 and will feature many of the popular brands. Among them are the fully themed Hot Wheels roller coasters, including Bone Shaker: The Ultimate Ride. Moreover, the ride will feature the famous hot rod’s skull design, as well as the double-looping Twin Mill Racer.

Speaking of the new planned park, Mattel Chief Franchise Officer, Josh Silverman said:

Mattel Adventure Park Kansas City will bring our iconic brands to life with epic roller coasters, family-friendly attractions, an immersive theater, themed dining, and so much more.

We are thrilled to expand these themed entertainment destinations and invite new fans to experience the world of Mattel in all-new ways as they create lasting memories with loved ones.

Other themes represented at the park

Besides the Hot Wheels and Barbie themes, additional Mattel brands will be represented in the park. These include the popular Thomas & Friends: World of Sodor, which features five family-friendly attractions and rides.

After the release of the Barbie movie, the brand has become even more popular and will be represented in the Kansas City theme park with a larger-than-life Barbie Beach House. Fans will be able to enjoy a Barbie-themed flying theater, The Barbie Rooftop restaurant and bar and the interactive retail Barbie Dream Closet Experience.

Epic Resort Destinations President Mark Cornell spoke of the exciting new park saying:

We are bringing Mattel’s powerhouse brands to life through state-of-the-art technology and engaging experiences. This new destination is sure to provide infinite fun for the whole family.

Other attractions at Mattel Adventure Parks

The park in Kansas City will also feature the Castle Grayskull Fortress where fans can partake in He-Man vs. Skeletor Laser Tag. Moreover, they can enjoy a round of 18-hole mini golf inspired by Magic 8 Ball, Pictionary and other popular Mattel games.

Besides the new park in Kansas City, Mattel is also opening its first theme park this year with the Mattel Adventure Park in Glendale, Arizona. This park is set to be located south of State Farm Stadium at VAI Resort in Glendale. Moreover, this will be the first fully themed indoor/outdoor amusement park in Arizona.
