Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari opens Good Gravy! roller coaster
In a world-first, Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari last weekend opened Good Gravy! a $10 million gravy-themed roller coaster. Riders are treated to a fun experience in a train shaped like a giant gravy boat, taking them for a 1,500-foot ride through a giant cranberry sauce can. While there’s no sign of any turkey, the roller coaster then takes riders up a 72-foot-tall spike before performing a boomerang move, repeating the track in reverse. The fourth-generation owner of Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari, Leah Koch-Blumhardt said in a statement:After years of planning, it’s heart-warming to see Good Gravy! come to life. This isn’t the tallest or fastest coaster to open in North America this year, but it certainly has the most heart. We’ve loved hearing feedback from the thousands of guests who have already ridden with their whole family. Family fun is what Holiday World is all about.
Stuffing Springs and Cranberry Corner
Good Gravy! has a 38-inch minimum height requirement for kids, but they have also added a Stuffing Springs area, with a Cranberry Corner playground to keep them happy. Meanwhile, keeping in the culinary mood, other highlights include a 1967 Airstream Dippin’ Dots stand, as well as giant kitchen accessories and ingredients. Meanwhile, these include a 13-foot rolling pin and milk bottle, a 15-foot-tall whisk, a six-foot chicken timer and a 10-foot stuffing box. Moreover, the new ride also opens with an immersive queue, taking riders through Grandma Gracy’s 1965 house for Thanksgiving dinner. Meanwhile, this comes complete with a living portrait of Grandma Gracy who asks them to wipe their shoes and there’s even a Sears catalog in the living room.
Meanwhile, fourth-generation owner Lauren Crosby spoke of the new attraction, saying:
It’s the little details that make all the difference. Our team paid great attention to detail in selecting the tiniest of items for the queue. We made sure the cord for the phone in the kitchen was nice and long, and the sheet music on the piano is ‘Over the River and Through the Woods.’ We hope our Guests enjoy it all as much as we enjoyed making it happen.
