U.S. government personnel in the UAE continue to shelter in place, and we recommend that all Americans in the UAE do the same… remain in your residence, hotel, or another structure, and stay away from windows.”
Favorite Places Under Threat
Unfortunately, favorites seem best scrubbed off the travel 2026 itinerary. For example, The Fairmont The Palm seems like a no-go, with debris from intercepted missiles falling down. Naturally, folks staying there got one heck of a fright.
Meanwhile, landmarks like the Burj Khalifa and Palm Jumeirah saw damage from shrapnel. And, if you’re there right now, you might not find a flight out.
Reportedly, the backlash from regional strikes included loud explosions over the city and emergency alerts went out. While tourist zones usually stay on the sidelines of conflict, this time things seem extremely pear-shaped.
While reportedly, Dubai Airports saw a “limited resumption” on Monday evening, perhaps it might be best to delay going there.

No-go’s for now include Abu Dhabi and Doha, as the entire regional airspace remains a “bottleneck.” Plus, high alert warnings remain in place for any travel near military or government facilities in the Gulf.
Meanwhile, things could get sticky in places like Sharjah or Fujairah. But basically, the list of potential danger in the UAE seems extensive. Maybe it’s best to just not go there until the situation fully settles down: presuming it’s not the beginning of an apocalyptic World War 3.

Travel in the region brings more than just an inconvenience. Actually, many people seem terrified. Travel 2026 already got hit by flight issues. For instance, major airlines like Emirates and flydubai scrapped nearly 90% of their schedules over the weekend.
Actually, the mix of airport disruptions and “Stage 3 Irregular Operations” makes planning a journey through the region nearly impossible.
