Ultra-modern Dubai is the largest and most heavily populated city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and has been awarded the No. 1 global destination by Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards for the second time. Meanwhile, according to the latest data from the Airport, it has enjoyed a 49 percent increase in passenger traffic in the first half of 2023. Dubai, UAE prepares for even more visitors

According to the Chief Executive of Dubai Airport, they are preparing for an exceptionally busy second half of the year. So, why is this Middle Eastern city so popular with travelers? This is due to the fact that the city has invested billions of dollars in developing its tourism infrastructure.

Among its most famous attractions are the soaring modern buildings like the Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab, the massive Dubai Mall, and its 11 Michelin-starred restaurants. Moreover, the city opens new attractions on an almost monthly basis, and this year has been especially busy with new openings, offering an incentive to visitors. In fact, in the last six months, the city has opened new shopping malls, new entertainment destinations and new museums.

Recently, the city opened a new public beach, known as Dubai Islands Beach. This beautiful stretch of sand overlooks the Palm Jumeirah and the Burj Al Arab and offers water sports, new restaurants and more along the beachfront. Even better, the beach is pet-friendly.

For one thing, visiting here is easy, as Dubai Airport acts as a hub for other destinations in the Middle and Far East. Meanwhile, visitors from the US can fly non-stop to Dubai from Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco and Washington, DC. In fact, right now, there are 14 direct flights a day to choose from, from New York to Dubai.

Due to this, Dubai is the ideal destination for travelers visiting the Middle East for the first time, with the convenience of a direct flight.

When should you visit?

Naturally, summer months in Dubai are exceptionally hot, although that hasn’t put travelers off this year. However, the most comfortable time to visit is from November to February, when the temperatures are lower and the city is less crowded.

One thing is for sure, you have a wide choice of hotels for a comfortable and luxurious stay. Right now, Dubai has 151 five-star hotels, compared to five years ago when there were only 113.
