Morocco isn’t a place that’s shunned by travelers who seek beauty and safety, and that’s why Sir Richard Branson reopened his Kasbah Tamadot retreat in the Atlas Mountains. But 2025 news reveals many more reasons to put the country on your destination list.
New News Is A Tourism Booster
Recently, Kayak’s Travel Check-in report was widely cited as recommending both Morocco and Zimbabwe as worth visiting in 2025. When Travel to Our World cited the report, they raved about both of the countries, situated at opposite ends of the African continent.

The outlet wrote:
The two African nations shine in Kayak’s list of the year’s hottest takeoff lines, underscoring the continent’s rise as a powerhouse of adventure and culture.
Naturally, Zimbabwe features because of wildlife, Victoria Falls, comfortable climate, and a friendly vibe. But for the purposes of this article, let’s dive into what makes Morocco especially attractive.
Attractive & Comfortable Accommodation
You do not need to slum it in the Maghreb region of North Africa. It’s not far from Europe, with its situation near the South of Spain. Many awesome accommodations await travelers to this stunning region. Hotels like the Four Seasons chain can be found at both Kasr Al Bahr and Marrakech.

Marrakech, of course, brings a delightful mix of vibrant colors and market stalls. Also known as the “Red City,” visitors to the city discover the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the old medina quarter. But as usual, in any country, it’s not only the cities that attract those with wanderlust.
Many Fascinating Destinations To Visit
Between the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert, and the ocean, plenty of perfect insta-ready pics are there for the taking. Throughout the country, expect to find a mixture of both historic and modern places to explore. Casablanca, of course, a modernized city by the French, makes it a blend of two cultures with a Mediterranean feel to it.

Getting away from cities isn’t an issue. For example, Morocco’s Berber heartland, Tafraoute, brings an opportunity to explore the mountains and discover ancient trading routes. Be on the lookout for a variety of attractions at the annual Blossom Festival.
If you prefer to avoid the madding crowd, then you might enjoy taking a tour to the Erg Chigaga dunes. Meet camels, sleep in traditional tents, and engage with the locals as they go about their daily life. Not remote enough for you? Well, there are options to explore cedar forests, cave dwellings, and olive orchards in the Rif Range area.
A Gem Of A Place
One gem, known to be patronized by the expat community who always seem to find the best places, is Mirleft. There’s a reason for its popularity. There, explorers who love the sea can surf, enjoy good company, and yet totally chill and relax.

Just remember that while most folks, especially in the quieter places, are often friendly, it’s not really ideal to go for camel rides or take photos of goats tied to trees. Ethically, tourism these days seems to lean away from the exploitation of animals in this stunning region of the world.
