It’s time to get excited about the upcoming opening of Disney’s Pixar Place Hotel in Disneyland. The Pixar-themed hotel is set to open officially on January 30, 2024, and is the best place for fans of Pixar Animation Studios to stay while visiting Disneyland Resort.

Disney’s Pixar Place Hotel is set to open on January 30, 2024. The project was first announced in 2022 and is a complete overhaul of Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel. Meanwhile, it will be a seaside-themed hotel resort including nods to the kids’ favorites such as Toy Story in and around the hotel and in the guest rooms.

Pixar Place Hotel will evoke the inspiration and humor that goes into every Pixar film, while celebrating the artistic process. Showcasing early sketches to finished design, the art and decor will highlight vibrant Pixar stories, revealing some never-before-seen artwork.

What can guests expect in 2024?

Once the transformation is finished in 2024, guests will enter a whimsical lobby including a larger-than-life version of the brand’s iconic Pixar Lamp, balancing on top of its ball. Looking up, guests will see an elaborate mobile.

According to Disney:

The mobile will depict the beginning stages of Pixar filmmaking when animators create the characters’ designs with their most basic shapes and colors.

The characters you’ll see are at the beginning of their journey, just as the guests who step into the lobby begin their own story at the Disneyland Resort!

The hotel’s reimagined guest rooms will reveal a theme of beloved Pixar characters throughout. Moreover, from the furniture to the bedding, the theme will continue including Pixar Ball-inspired pillows.

Rooms are contemporary in style and feature relevant artwork created by the animation studio’s artists. This will include concept art from beloved movies like The Incredible and Toy Story 3 on the headboards. The art will be arranged in order from warm to cool colors, revealing the importance of color to the tone of an animated scene.

Dining in the Great Maple Restaurant at Disneyland Resort

Disney’s Pixar Place Hotel will feature its flagship restaurant, Great Maple, which is set to open its doors in November ahead of the full completion. This will be a modern American restaurant serving “upscale comfort food” for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Moreover, the family can expect dishes made from scratch, including maple bacon doughnuts, buttermilk fried chicken and soda pop-braised baby back ribs.

Moreover, the hotel will feature a new coffee shop, Sketch Pad Café, in the lobby, as well as an all-new menu at the hotel’s Small Bytes rooftop pool bar. While the remodel continues, guests can enjoy the rooftop Pixar Pool, with its new “Finding Nemo”-themed splash pad and pool area, Crush’s Surfin’ Slide and Pixar-themed fire pits. But that’s not all, as a new play court and pool bar is expected to open later in the fall.

Retail therapy and fitness at Disney’s Pixar Place Hotel

Located off the main lobby, the hotel’s reimagined gift shop, STOR-E, will feature Pixar-themed merchandise as well as classic Disneyland Resort items. Meanwhile, those wishing to keep fit on vacation can visit the new, expanded fitness center. It features a sprawling mural inspired by Pixar’s “Monsters University,” revealing Mike and Sulley running on the treadmill.
