Timed with the solar eclipse on August 2, 2027, Geographic Expeditions’ 10-day adventure explores the antiquities and wonders of Egypt. Dubbed “Egypt’s Eclipse: Ancient Sands & Cosmic Stories,” the journey starts in Cairo to explore the city’s rich history and then continues by air to Aswan for a two-masted wooden dahabeya private sailboat trip on the Nile River to Luxor.

Luxor will see guests enjoying the opportunity to witness the total solar eclipse from a private rooftop on one of the tallest buildings in the village. That view includes the grandeur of Luxor’s ancient landscape. Moreover, it will overlook the Valley of the Kings where many royal pharaohs are buried. They will also view the dramatic cliffs that cradle the Temple of Hatshepsut.

Meanwhile, the last stop on the itinerary is a visit to the Temple of Hathor, followed by a final celebration in Dendera before heading back to Cairo for the flight home.
