European Sleeper will introduce a new Brussels to Venice night train in 2025, with nine cities along the route. Reportedly, the new service will run around twice a week during the winter months and the journey will take around 15 hours. Meanwhile, the introduction of the train is due to the high demand for winter sports travel and the lack of suitable rail connections.

The new seasonal service will cross Europe from the North Sea to the Adriatic, passing through nine cities along the way. Not only is the service for winter sports, it will also be ideal for city breaks and the Venice Carnival, which runs from February 22 to March 4, 2025. The train will run through Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Austria before heading to Italy.

The major tourist cities along the way include Antwerp, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Cologne, Munich, Innsbruck and Verona.

Speaking of the new service, Chris Engelsman, co-founder of European Sleeper said:

Passengers will be able to board our train from Belgium and the Netherlands, and relax in the comfort of the restaurant car, while the train transports them through Germany and Austria, and across the Alps, ending in the historic cities of Verona and Venice the following day.

Meanwhile, the inaugural journey of the night train will leave Brussels on February 5, 2025, with the new service running approximately twice weekly during February and March, with the journey taking around 15 hours.

”This schedule accommodates school holidays, and the peak winter sports season, and provides a sustainable, enjoyable travel option to Venice’s famous carnival,” Engelsman added.

“This marks a new important milestone for European Sleeper and the convenience of night travel across Europe more sustainably.”

When do bookings open for the new European sleeper train?
