Those travelers who prefer a staycation will definitely find a perfect choice in Alaska. While most Americans travel here in the summer months, Alyeska Resort, located an hour outside of Anchorage offers an amazing ski experience.

Moreover, it is the largest ski resort in the state with 1,610 skiable acres and 76 trails. Even better, it also has North America’s longest double Black Diamond run.

It features 46 lifts, more than 100 trails, and 3,000 acres of terrain in its four resort areas. Meanwhile, as can be seen in the image above, it offers runs for experts and beginners alike.

Sierra Nevada in Granada, Spain

Heading to Europe, the Sierra Nevada mountain range in Spain is just an hour and 15 minutes up north from the beach. Skiers at this southernmost ski destination can choose from 134 slopes, which include the highest slope in Spain. Meanwhile, with the Mediterranean reasonably close by, skiers can look forward to plenty of sunny days, while skiing on the mountain, featuring runs for beginners and experts.
