The folk on Amelia Island have already been busy getting ready for a special annual event dubbed Dickens on Centre. Set to run from December 7 to 10, this is officially the largest Christmas market in Florida and a wonder to browse.

Over the four-day event, the downtown area of Amelia Island’s Fernandina Beach turns its clocks back. The market celebrates a Victorian holiday vibe, right down to the costumes. This largest Christmas market in Florida offers plenty of attractions. Here, there are shopping booths to purchase the perfect gifts for the family and friends.

Meanwhile, plenty of food and drink is available while browsing the market. Besides these standard market items, the festival also features Santa visits, holiday movies, and costumed characters for effect. It also offers two entertainment stages, 3-D drone shows and kids’ zones—literally, something for everyone.

According to Travel + Leisure, the event starts on December 7 with the Dickens Illuminated Procession. Anyone can join this Front Street parade, especially if they bring something festive, like illuminated lanterns. The event runs on December 7 from 5 pm to 7 pm, on December 8 from 5 pm to 9 pm, on December 9 from 10 am to 9 pm, and on December 10 from 10 am to 5 pm.

Other activities include a one-mile fun run race dubbed cleverly “Run Like The Dickens” at 8:30 am on December 9 on the Main Beach of Amelia Island. Moreover, a Dickens After Dark costume party is set to be held on December 9 at 5 pm at Lesesne House for folks aged 21 and up. The party will feature jugglers, stilt walkers, a Kristen Sparrow Circus Fire & Ice show and music from Mama Blue.

Moreover, from December 8 to 10, the Dickens Enchanted Village will open where people can book one of eight holiday-decorated domes for an hour for up to six people. Here, visitors can enjoy a charcuterie box from Luxe Picnics by Les. Moreover, wine, beer and sparkling wine can be enjoyed at the on-site tavern.

From Friday through Sunday, visitors can catch a trolley from the parking lot between South 11th and 13th Streets on Centre to South 4th Street where the Christmas market runs.
