Insider Monkey regularly releases data for all things financial, but this time their report involves the most visited cities by US travelers. The report uses data from Allianz Partners on the top destinations for Americans who traveled between 2017 and 2022. Meanwhile, they ranked the cities on the basis of how many times they received visits from American tourists during the research period. In fact, a city included in the top choices for one year during that period was assigned a score of one. In Montego Bay’s case, the Jamaican city achieved a score of six.

Meanwhile, according to the trends, US travelers have long preferred beach destinations. During 2022, more than 900 million people traveled internationally, doubling up on the total for 2021. Due to this, virtually every region in the world saw major increases in the number of international tourists. For instance, Europe was particularly popular, with increases of 80 percent on the pre-pandemic numbers. Moreover, Africa, North America and South America also soared by 65 percent of their pre-COVID numbers.

Of interest to note, the Middle East experienced the strongest increase in number soaring by 83 percent of its pre-pandemic visitors. However, for their part, the Pacific and Asia experienced the weakest tourism numbers, mainly due to the strict travel limits posed by the pandemic.
