Adventurous family hike up Mount Teide
For families with older children, hiking up Mount Teide is the ultimate adventure. Standing at 3,718 meters (12,200 feet) above sea level, the volcano’s peak offers panoramic views over the seven islands that form part of the archipelago.If not feeling up to hiking the whole of Mount Teide, head to the Cable Lift Base Station where a cable car takes you to the Upper Station. Here, families with smaller kids can stop to experience the wonderful views. However, more adventurous families can then hike the Telesforo Bravo trail to the volcano’s crater.

Siam Park in Adeje, southern Tenerife is one of the largest themed water parks in Europe. Here, the older children can enjoy the thrilling water slides, including the Tower of Power, a 28-meter (92 feet) vertical slide down to the water below. They will also love the Kinnaree ride, standing 25 meters (82 feet) in height, taking them on a thrilling ride through a 45-degree funnel, around a curve and down to the water. As for the little ones, they can have endless fun in Sawasdee, splashing around and enjoying four different water slides.
