Season 2 of the K-drama started streaming on Netflix on December 26, 2024, as a late Christmas present for Squid Game fans. While the second season only features seven episodes, fans can rest assured that season 3, the finale of the story, is already set for release in 2025.
The new season will see the return of some familiar faces from season 1, along with a constellation of new stars ready to play the game. Lee Jung-Jae returns as the protagonist, Seong Gi-hun, while Lee Byung-hun again plays Front Man, the antagonist. The role of the recruiter is once again played by Gong Yoo, while Hwang Jun-ho will play detective Wi Ha-jun, who turns out to be the Front Man’s brother.
