Various countries around the world offer digital nomads with varying requirements, such as monthly earnings. However, according to VisaGuide World, some destinations for remote workers are better than others

However, the top ranking once again lists Spain as the best country for digital nomads. With its latest requirements for a digital nomad visa in Spain, applicants only need to prove they earn at least €2,600 (roughly $2,817) per month to apply, which is double Spain’s minimum wage.

Meanwhile, Spain’s warm climate, idyllic beaches and top-class healthcare system are already top attractions for remote workers. Meanwhile, since 2024, successful applicants can bring their spouse or family along with them by proving a little more monthly income.

Some of the most popular cities include Madrid, Malaga on the Costa del Sol and Barcelona.

United Arab Emirates comes second

Close on the heels of Spain, the United Arab Emirates comes in second place, scoring 4.4 out of 5 overall. The UAE is popular for its super-fast Internet, light tax policies, and lower health insurance fees, which VisaGuide.World stresses are crucial for digital nomads.

However, there is one stumbling block when it comes to the super-rich UAE, especially for those on a tight budget. To successfully apply for a “virtual work visa,” remote workers need a one-year work contract and a minimum monthly salary of $3,500. Moreover, Dubai even has its own virtual working program, but this is even more expensive at prove earnings of $5,000 per month.
