About Marqués de Riscal
While staying at the hotel, guests can enjoy high-quality wines while enjoying views over the sprawling vineyard, which was first established back in 1858.
The ceremony was hosted by Tim Atkin MW, who described Marqués de Riscal as “a unique world of pleasure involving all the senses, and a vinous paradise.”

Third place was well-deserved by the South African winery, Creation, which is renowned for its gourmet tasting menus and educational tours.
Coming in fourth place in the awards is another Rioja winery, Bodegas Ysios, which also snagged the Highest Climber award, after moving up 67 places from last year’s awards.
Rounding out the top five, Schloss Johannisberg in Germany is often said to be the birthplace of Riesling. Meanwhile, Champagne producer, Maison Ruinart came in sixth place, ahead of Château Smith Haut Lafitte, Abadía Retuerta, Weingut Dr. Loosen in Germany, and Durigutti Family Winemakers’ Finca Victoria in Argentina.
