Enjoy the best Halloween in Macon, Georgia
We recently headed into September, meaning we aren’t only in autumn, but also in the scariest time of the year. For anyone wanting to celebrate a spooky Halloween, Macon, Georgia is just the spot. In October each year in Macon, hundreds of witches take to the Ocmulgee River to see if they can float. However, they do cheat a bit by taking standup paddleboards and canoes for a cruise down the river.
Meanwhile, the annual Witches Float at Amerson River Park in Macon invites “witches, warlocks and wizards” to swap their broomsticks for paddles to get into the “spirit of the season with this family-friendly event.” Moreover, guests are encouraged to wear a costume and bring any non-motorized flotation device for the event. The 2024 Witches Float will happen on Sunday, October 6, from 2 – 5 pm local time, with witches gathering at 3 pm before taking to the water.
Witches Float in a good cause

However, while the Witches Float is a major event, there are many more things to see and do in Macon.Haunted Victorian mansions in Macon
