This lush and green area of the park transports visitors back to the Mesozoic era. Meanwhile, Dino Valley features three new, fun rides, photo op spots, play areas and naturally, dino-themed eateries. Moreover, for aspiring paleontologists, there is even a sand pit where they can jump in and dig for dinosaur bones.

Visitors can be fully immersed in this enchanting forested enclave, surrounded by the sounds of the animals. While dinosaurs are extinct everywhere else in the world, here they can be seen and enjoyed, while the park inspires the vivid imaginations of the kids (and adults too).

Dinosaurs crafted from Lego bricks

Naturally, the colorful giant dinos are constructed completely from Lego bricks and peek out from around every corner or behind every tree. Meanwhile, the kids will get to meet a human-sized T-Rex with a Lego lady explorer hanging out in the Dino Encounter encampment. Both are excited to meet and greet their young visitors for a fun photo op.

Kids and adults alike will love one of the exciting attractions, where they join Lego-man and –lady adventurers, meandering down the waterways of Explorer River Quest. Here, many brightly colored dinosaur species are waiting to greet visitors around each corner.

Along the way, the family will spot cheeky, water-spitting aquatic dinos, baby dinosaurs and their mothers. They will also meet bipedal and quadrupedal land-dwelling dinos, and exciting carnivorous species, all colored like a rainbow. They tower over visitors as they float along the twisting and turning river on this gentle flume ride.

Next, those riders of 42” and up can climb on board an expedition train, taking them through various dips, twists and dives on an expedition train. This wild, rollercoaster-type ride takes them on a track above a lagoon, presided over by the massive brachiosaurus.

Families with little ones will likely prefer to meet a tamer version of the enormous dinos. Meanwhile, even adults will enjoy a ride on the Duplo Little Dino Trail, heading out for a photo safari in a jeep-type vehicle with built-in handheld “cameras” the family can use to take snapshots of the dino species encountered along the trail.

One truly fun aspect is that if visitors manage to capture their subject (or the little red light next to it that they should aim for), this activates motion, or plays sounds from the stylized animatronic creatures as they pass by. Moreover, this offers the kids a chance to be in the driver’s seat, navigating the many twists and turns.

Experiencing the new Dino Valley at LEGOLAND California

There is no doubt that the whole family will love their experience at the new Dino Valley as much as they love the existing themed park areas. Each is crafted to capture the imaginations of visitors at any age.
