Windstar Cruises offers new itineraries including the Marquesas Islands
Having launched Star Breeze, Windstar Cruises is now rolling out new itineraries to take guests to remote and beautiful locales.
‘Tahitian Treasures & Magnificent Marquesas’
Star Breeze will head out from Papeete, the French Polynesian capital, before heading to Fakarava, an atoll in the Tuamotu Archipelago. From there, the ship will head northeast to the Marquesas Islands, stopping at Fatu Hiva, Hiva Oa, and Nuku Hiva Islands.
Guests will spend three glorious days in the Marquesas before the Star Breeze heads back to the Tuamotus and Rangiroa. From there, the ship will explore the Society Islands, including Bora Bora, Moorea and Taha’a, before heading home to Papeete.
About the Marquesas Islands
The islands’ landscapes feature craggy mountains, magnificent bays and beautiful waterfalls. Moreover, the Marquesas features many fascinating archeological sites. While not overdeveloped like many destinations in the world, the Marquesas do offer hotels and other traveler amenities. However, it is the landscapes that truly catch visitors’ attention.
Other cruises on Star Breeze
Besides the Marquesas, Star Breeze will also offer more cruises in the area. Among them is the 7-day “Dreams of Tahiti” itinerary, the 10-day “Tahiti & Moorea Foodie” and the 11-day “Tahiti & the Tuamotu Islands.”
While on board the newly renovated Star Breeze, guests will be able to visit Tahiti’s out-of-the-way harbors, pristine beaches and secluded lagoons in the signature, small ship style of Windstar Cruises.
Among the new shore excursions, guests can experience a cultural catamaran cruise in Raiate, and a scuba diving certification program in Papeete before the cruise. Moreover, travelers will learn about the importance of preserving and protecting the coral reefs in two new excursions in partnership with Coral Gardeners. Based in Mo’orea, the organization is growing and replanting corals to revive coral reef ecosystems and has, to date, planted 30,980 corals.
Speaking of the cultural experiences, Windstar’s president, Chris Prelog, Windstar’s president, said, “We have dialed in our itineraries and curated cultural experiences on and off the ship,” adding, “We can’t wait to share it with more travelers.”
