Margaritaville at Sea has announced an upgrade to its “Heroes Sail Free” program. The program was launched to benefit military service members and first responders. As we know, those people deserve the best for their efforts in saving Americans. With the new upgrade, the cruise line is enhancing the perk and discount program.

Margaritaville at Sea renames ‘Heroes Sail Free’ program

As part of its upgrade of the program, the cruise line has renamed its “Heroes Sail Free” program to “Heroes Sail Free, Heroes Sail First.” Besides the new name, the program is seeing some significant changes.

Moreover, all eligible guests can sail for free with a paying guest whenever they want on two of the cruise line’s ships including back-to-back sailings. Eligible guests include US military service members (active duty and veterans), firefighters, police, nurses, emergency medical service personnel and educators.

Which cruise ships welcome heroes?

As mentioned, two of Margaritaville at Sea cruise ships allow hero guests to enjoy the benefits of the program. One is the new Margarita at Sea Islander, a ship set to debut in June 2024. That cruise ship sails from Tampa Bay, going on to visit Key West, Cozumel and Progreso, Mexico.

The other is Margarita at Sea Paradise, which sails from Palm Beach, sailing to the Bahamas in the Caribbean.

Besides sailing free, heroes who book a cruise through the program can enjoy a variety of benefits. Among them are priority embarkation and disembarkation at home and destination ports. At the start of the sail, heroes also receive two welcome benefits, expedited booking assistance for shore excursions and priority luggage delivery. Meanwhile, any paying guests in the heroes’ stateroom will also benefit from the special perks.

Meanwhile, the “Heroes Sail Free” program is offered through a partnership with GovX, a platform offering military and government discounts. Also, hero guests must verify their eligibility through GovX. Moreover, they can book a cruise through GovX’s website, or on the official Margaritaville at Sea’s website.

Other guests enjoying cruises with Margaritaville at Sea can also benefit from another program, Margaritaville Perks. Regular sailors can enjoy straightforward immediate benefits, perks and value-adds to make their journey memorable and rewarding. As a Margaritaville Perks member, guests will be eligible to receive perks every time they book directly with the cruise line at participating locations.
