AmaWaterways launches vegan and plant-based menu items
While many people are turning away from meat and seeking vegan and vegetarian dishes, it isn’t always easy for them. Even in a world where people openly decry the killing of animals for their meals, restaurants don’t always have any suitable items on their menus. It is equally difficult to access vegan and plant-based food on cruises, but AmaWaterways is changing that.
Speaking of AmaWaterway’s new menu offerings, the river cruise company’s Co-Founder and Executive Vice President Kristin Karst says she is a passionate believer that “plant-based meals are the future.” The new menu offerings will offer guests a visually beautiful and palate-pleasing culinary experience.
About the new, enhanced menu
Among the highlights, vegan and vegetarian guests can enjoy appetizers such as oven-roasted eggplant bruschetta with herbs, garlic chickpeas bruschetta with a touch of balsamic vinegar. For main courses, guests will sit down to enjoy delicious entrees, including slow-braised vegetable stew. The delicious stew is crafted from Portobello mushrooms, cauliflower and carrots. Another menu option to enjoy is grilled cauliflower and sweet potato, enhanced with cherry tomatoes, broccoli and beans as lemon salsa verde.
Meanwhile, AmaWaterways continues its commitment to culinary excellence on each cruise ship. The cruise line stays attuned to emerging trends and the preferences of its discerning guests. Due to this, the company is the only river cruise line to be inducted into the La Chaine des Rotisseurs International Association of Gastronomy.
