Norwegian launches new European routes for summer 2024
With the addition of 40 new European routes next summer, Norwegian will offer a total of 332 routes, flying to 123 destinations in the summer of 2024. According to the statement released on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, these new point-to-point routes are suitable for both leisure and business travelers outside the Nordic countries.
Among the new routes, nine will start out in Norway, nine from Sweden, two from Finland and 17 from Denmark. Meanwhile, point-to-point routes starting in Europe include connections between Alicante and Munich, Malaga and Munich, Riga and Corfu, and Riga and Tivat.In a statement from Norwegian, Magnus Thome Maursund, the airline’s Chief Commercial Officer said:
Launching these new routes expands our network and offers our customers more choice. From our bases in Europe, we are also starting new point-to-point routes. We are looking forward to a busy summer season and to welcoming our customers on board.
Other new routes coming from the airline
Other destinations included in Norwegian’s summer program are flights to the cities of Bari, Basel, Lyon, Montpellier and Zadar. As of May 2, the airline will also offer four weekly flights between London Gatwick and Gothenburg.Meanwhile, routes connecting Munich and Alicante and Munich and Malaga are set to operate throughout the summer season. Moreover, the company announced that the routes between Riga and Corfu, and Riga and Tivat will also fly throughout the summer.
“Our exciting new destinations will take travelers to vibrant European cities and destinations with crystal clear waters and sandy beaches. Our job is to make sure we get our customers to where they want to go and that their journey is as pleasant and smooth as possible,” Maursund added.
Next summer, Norwegian will have a fleet of some 90 aircraft in operation. Moreover, the airline has been ranked the most punctual airline in Europe for several months this year. This is the result of its strong track record of operational performance.
